We moved to Austin in 2002, and I can easily say that it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The sense of community and family here is strong, and we can’t imagine living anywhere else.
To celebrate our love for Texas, and Christmas, I created this painting called ‘A Texas Christmas’. I thought about how I wanted the flag to look. Rather than making it look new and fresh, I decided to go with a worn appearance. To me, this look is a symbol of strength and tradition. I wanted it to appear that this flag had been around a long time; it has seen a lot, and it remains strong (like our families).
This is an alternate version of “A Texas Christmas” with some beautiful purple and pink hues.
